First Merchant Bank (FMB) has given uniform worth K1.5 million to under-20 junior football league national finalists.
The bank’s Head of Marketing, Sylvia Mataka, presented the kits to the teams and organisers, at the bank’s headquarters on Wednesday in Blantyre.
“It has been a remarkable journey because we have bridged the gap that was there. We are providing a catchment area for Super League teams, national teams as well as international teams because most of our products have graduated to that level,” she said.
Football Association of Malawi General Secretary, Alfred Gunda, hailed FMB for supporting grassroots football.
The two-day finals kick off tomorrow at Mulanje Park Stadium where Griffin Young Stars, Mathambi (Southern Region), Sanwecka (Northern Region) and Silver Strikers Youth (Central Region) will battle it out starting from the semi-finals.
