Malawi’s international strikers Tabitha Chawinga’s team, Kvarnsvedens IK has been relegated from the Swedish’s women top league after playing two years in the Damallsvenskan league.
Knarnsvedens IK finished in position 11 out of 12 with 19 points from 22 games.
“It’s really painful to get relegated after playing in the league for a short period. But it happens in football even though its difficult to understand considering that we have a very good squad and experienced technical panel.
“We have accepted the relegation, we tried our level best but its just that the competition was very competitive,” said Tabitha.
The team brought her sister Temwa Chawinga in October this year to beefed up its squad in order to move out from the relegation zone.
