Nyasa Big Bullets are through to the semi-finals of Fisd Challenge Cup following their 8 -7 victory on post-match over Blue Eagles.
It was an entertaining match as both sides showed classic display.
Bullets almost took an early lead through veteran Chiukepo Msowoya who got a brilliant pass from Mike Nkwate but his effort went wide.
The visitors had another chance when Chimango Kaira’ effort was deflected towards eagles goal but to be cleared by John Soko.
Eagles responded well from Kaira’s danger as they exchanged good passes but their effort was not good enough after Gregory Nachipo short went wide.
Bullets had another golden chance through unmarked Fisher Kondowe whose header went over the bar. It ended 0-0 in the first half.
Come second half, the host came a changed team as they dominated bullets’ midfield.
Both sides made changes in the second half, Bullets brought in Bright Munthali and Jimmy Zakazaka for Mike Mkwate and Muhammad Sulumba while Micium Mhone was introduced for the hosts.
With less than three minutes to go, Eagles almost scored what could have been the winning goal when Banda was found unmarked inside Bullets’ half only to blast his effort over the crossbar when the goalkeeper was already beaten.
The two teams were deadlocked 0-0 after regulation time.
Bullets converted their spot kicks through Chiukepo Msowoya, Jimmy Zakazaka, Pilirani Zonda, John Lanjesi, Fisher Kondowe, Mussa Manyenje, Emmanuel Zoya and Chimango Kayira whereas Eagles were on target through Gilbert Chirwa, Vitumbiko Kumwenda, Maxwell Salambula, Gregory Nachipo, Micium Mhone, Osward Maonga and Alufeyas Nyoni.
Semu Banda missed his spot-kick that was parried away by Kakhobwe who was introduced in the 92nd minute to replace Rabson Chiyendato in goals.
