Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) director of field operations, Ben Phiri is set to launch a K10 million trophy according to Stewart Kunje who is chairperson in the organising committee.
The trophy will involve different sports categories such as Football, Netball , Athletics and Bawo.
Speaking to the media, Kunje highlighted that the trophy has been organised with the purpose of keeping young people in the district busy so that they stay away from immoral behaviours that can spoil their future.
“The youth in our district are talented, however their talent are hidden because we lack activities that can make them to be noticed in their sport disciplines,” said Kunje.
He further said that the trophy will promote sports from grassroots level.
The trophy is expected to be launched on Sunday October 8 2017 at Thyolo Community Centre ground.
