After guiding the Malawi nation netball team, the Queens’ to a great height at the 2016 fast5 world netball series in Australia, Netball team coach Griffin Saenda, and his assistant Sam Kanyenda has parted ways with the netball mother body as national team coaches.
While confirming to sportsmalawi, Saenda who was doubling as technical director said their contract was for the fast5 netball series and they have completed the task and that their contract has expired.
“We were contracted to take the national team to fast5 world netball series and we have done so and finished on a greater note, now our contract has expired meaning that we are free and we are not under NAM” Said Saenda.
However, the Kukoma Diamonds mentor put it to NAM if they can renew their contract or not.
“Since we have accomplished our task, it is up to NAM to renew our contract or find the better replacement for the queens in the future tournaments” he said.
On her part, Netball Association of Malawi, NAM chairperson Rose Chinunda said, the executive committee will meet next week to review the queens’ performance at the fast5 world netball series.
“The executive will meet next week to review the performance of the queens at the world show peace and determinations will be made at the gathering,” said the NAM president.
The next queens’ assignment is in June to July in the Africa Netball championship which will be hosted by Uganda.
