Malawi national netball team is now in the top three netball teams in this after finishing third at Fast5 netball world series tournament which was taking place in Australia.
The Queens thumped England 35-32 in a play off match meant to determine the third and fourth positions respectively.
Griffin Saenda’s girls managed to win only two matches in the round robin section to qualify for the third and fourth place decider.
They started the tournament with a painful defeat as they lost to the hosts with 24 baskets to 23 before losing again 43-22 to England in the second game.
The warm heart of Africa ladies managed to stun Jamaica in their last game of match day one by a comfortable win of 46 -12.
Come the match day two, the Queens continued where they had stopped against Jamaica as they clobbered their African rivals, South Africa, with 36 baskets to 21.
However in the last game of round robin section, the Queens were thumped in a shameful way by New Zealand with a huge gap of baskets of 57-27 to minimise their chances of qualifying into finals.
